About this event

In honor of the America 250 Celebration in Edwardsville, the Wildey Theatre's weekly film presentation for Tuesday, June 30, will be the musical movie "1776." This historical drama is set in Philadelphia in the summer of 1776 and offers a fictionalized version of the events leading up to the drafting and signing of the Declaration of Independence. Portions of the lyrics and dialogue were taken from letters and memoirs of the Founding Fathers and others involved in that momentous event. Released in 1972, "1776" listed among its cast William Daniels, Howard da Silva, Donald Madden, John Cullum, Ken Howard, and Blythe Danner.
