Join the Jersey County Historical Society at the 36th annual Apple Festival on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
This annual festival features something for everyone to enjoy, including live music beginning at 9:30 a.m., over 30 crafters and vendors, historical tours, activities for kids, and more!
Historical Tours of the Grounds
Historical tours of Cheney Mansion, Lone Star School, Union Forest Church, the Log Cabins, and the Museum will be held throughout the day, with tickets being sold until 3 p.m. and all tours finishing by 4:30 p.m. Tour tickets will be sold for $5 per person. Children under 5 are admitted free of charge. All children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Activities for Kids
From 10 a.m to 3 p.m., for $5 per child, kids can complete pioneer crafts and chores like churning butter, gathering eggs, shelling and grinding corn, milking a cow, etc., to earn “money,” which can be used to buy candy at the Mercantile.
Food & Drink
The Jersey County Historical Society will be serving fish, chicken strips, fries, hot dogs, soup, walking tacos, ham and beans with cornbread, lots of homemade pies and desserts, and kettle corn throughout the day.
