Jean and Ann joins Cj in the sutdio to detail Family Album is the story of Altonian Jean King’s family put to music. Through song and dance, it tells their story in four parts: Our Ancestors, Our Immediate Family, Our Generation, and Our Next Generation.
Trilogy features music inspired by three works of art: sculptures The Whistler and The Bather, and an oil and acrylic painting, Thicket No. 43, by Jeffrey Vaughn.
Jean King composed the music for both the eighty-minute feature length film and the fifteen-minute short film and wrote the lyrics for Family Album. Ann Morrissey Davidson is the cinematographer. Both films are a community effort by vocalists, dancers, and actors. Filming took place on location in the greater Alton area.
The event takes place September 10th and we learn all the details on how we can be a part of it!
