Heavy rain has caused severe damage across the village of Bethalto requiring major water treatment repairs. The repairs are projected to span, at the very least, eight years. The city council conducted a special meeting at Civic Memorial High School's Auditorium to allow citizens to voice their concerns with the recent flooding and backup of sewer systems that the area has experienced.
