Riverbender's very own, Pat Schwarte, won Ambassador of the Year for his continued work with the Riverbend Growth Association.

The construction has finished, certifications have been passed, and most importantly, the brew is ready to be served. The anticipation is over and now citizens of the Riverbend can see the completed work of the Old Bakery Beer Company and try a glass of their long-awaited craft beer.

Lily's Lounge, in the Atrium Hotel of Alton, recently hosted the Battle of the Beers. The event was comprised of two parts where attendees could taste each product, wine and beer, then take notes and vote on which beer and wine they felt were best.

The Nelly Strong Pride Fitness Blood Drive took place at the Cornerstone Church in Bethalto, Illinois. Todd Laux and Tim Nelson, two of the event organizers, stated they were very impressed with the turnout and expected the donations to double that of last year's event.
