Wanda Louella Ross, age 87, of Carrollton went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 22, 2025 at her residence. She was born September 14, 1938 in Rockbridge Township, the daughter of Leroy and Martha Pauline Scott Walker. She married Richard Ross May 4, 1957 at Mt. Gilead Church in Carrollton and he preceded her in death November 1, 1992.
She is survived by her children, Donald (Mary) Ross of Carrollton, Terry (Anita) Ross of Carrollton, Sharon (Larry) Bowman of Greenfield, Jennifer (Brad) Henson of Carrollton, ten grandchildren, Jacob (Kelli) Ross, Jerad (Kristin) Ross, Brandon (Jessica) Ross, Abby (Jeff) Schweizer, Chelsea (Jared) Stanton, Jordan (Karen) Bowman, Jessica (David) Stewart, Courtney (Garrett) Gonzalez, Matthew Henson, Kenlie (Andrew) Fearneyhough, twenty-one great grandchildren, and two on the way; two brothers, Dean Walker of Greenfield, Jack (Charlene) Walker of Greenfield, two sisters, Debra (Jerry) Joyce of Greenfield, Brenda (Randy) Gaffney of Palmyra and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Carroll, Darrell, Bill, and Randy Walker, and two sisters, Frances Hodgerson and Barb Wagner.
She worked at the Davidson Drug Store prior to marriage and then took on the role of homemaker and farmers wife for many years. Later after the passing of her husband, she worked at Frances’ Daycare and Nursery School and then at the Brass Door.
Her entire married life she was a true farmer’s wife. She prepared many meals for the family, and many meals were served in the fields on the back of a pickup truck. She loved planting beautiful flowers, mowing her yard and watching the hummingbirds. Her true pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she enjoyed watching them in their many activities. She so enjoyed her Wednesday card club and Friday night Farkle group.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Greenfield First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Kane Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the church.. Memorials may be made to Boyd Hospital Gas Card Program or Greenfield First Baptist Church. Aisman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton is in charge of arrangements.
