Viola Caulk

Viola M. Caulk, age 97, of Glen Carbon, Illinois died Sunday, September 18, 2016, at her home. Viola was born September 28, 1918, in Edwardsville, Illinois the daughter of the late Charles & Margaret (Triska) Blumberg. Viola married Robert J. Caulk on April 16, 1942, at Edwardsville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1988. She is survived by 1 son, Dennis R. Caulk & wife Jean of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 2 daughters, Bernadette Ladwig of Edwardsville and Deborah Swartz & husband Bob of Irving, Texas; 14 Grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson, and a son-in-law, Steve Kribs of Alton. She was preceded in death by 1 son, Timothy Caulk, 1 daughter, Donna Kribs, 1 grandson, Paul Kribs, 2 brothers, Charles & Robert Blumberg, 1 twin sister, Margaret Hofeditz and a son-in-law, Len E. Ladwig. Viola was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Edwardsville, the Daughters of Isabella, Ladies Aide, and Ladies Home Extension Group in Edwardsville. For 25 years she was a volunteer for the Anderson Hospital Auxiliary. Visitation will be from 4 to7 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at the funeral home with Deacon Dan Corbett officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Glen Carbon. Memorials may be given to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
