Veda Davis

Veda May (Bolin) Davis, 63, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 9:52 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at St. Louis University Hospital.

She was born on August 1, 1962, in Karlsruhe, Germany. On August 1, 1982, Veda married the love of her life, Terry Lee Davis, in East St. Louis, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1988.

Veda retired in 2019 from Reichmann Transport after 20 years of dedicated service as an accounting clerk. She greatly enjoyed bowling and playing volleyball and treasured the friendships she made through those activities. Veda will be remembered for her sweet, loyal, and humorous personality. She was hardworking, generous, strong-willed, and faced life with remarkable courage. Above all, she loved her family deeply and cherished the many special moments they shared together.

She is survived by her mother, Frances (Wallisch) Bolin of Granite City; her daughter, Fran (Jeremy Stief) Davis of Granite City; seven grandchildren, Amaya Stief, Haley Stief, Sophia Davis, Coty Stief, Sydni Gable, Jakob Gerber, and Autumn Prange; two great-grandchildren, Ezra and Paisley; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Inge and Jim Dumez of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Carmen and Tom Zipriano of Bradenton, Florida; as well as nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and many friends.

In addition to her beloved husband, Terry, Veda was preceded in death by her father, Dean Bolin, and her daughter, Lindsay Davis.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be held at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 3:00 p.m., with Reverend Sharon Autenrieth officiating. Veda will be laid to rest with her husband at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
