Theodore W. Rousseau, 94, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026.
Born on March 28, 1932, in Decatur, Illinois, Theodore was the son of Theodore W. Rousseau Sr. and Viola (Hollensteiner) Rousseau.
He attended St. Mary's Catholic School before continuing his education at Marquette Catholic High School, both in Alton, Illinois. Theodore proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as a certified mechanic. Following his military service, he continued serving his community as a Madison County Sheriff's Deputy.
Theodore had a remarkable talent for fixing and building just about anything. He enjoyed tackling building projects, rewiring and soldering electrical components, fabricating new parts, and repairing small appliances. An avid watch collector, he also found great joy in giving thoughtful gifts to others. Known for his wonderful sense of humor, Theodore brought laughter to those around him throughout his life. After retiring, he enjoyed working at St. Peter's Hardware and later at Lowe's, where he continued sharing his knowledge and helping others.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved companion, Eagle Feather Barker, and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his aunt, Alberta Haegele; and his daughter, JoAnn Wolff.
In accordance with his wishes, no service will be held and cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials may be made to the 5A's Animal Shelter.
