Thelma Davis, 89, passed away Monday November 5, 2012, at 12:28 am, with her family by her side.
She was born on July 25, 1923 in Griggsville, IL the daughter of Charles and Delphia (Zimmerman) Rumple. Thelma married Nelson Davis in 1942 in St. Louis, MO and he preceded her in death in 1988. Thelma was a housewife most of her life.
She belonged to Calvary Baptist Church in Alton. She was an avid reader and particularly enjoyed mysteries. Thelma loved working in her garden. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
She is survived by two daughters Sandy Beattie of Alton, Cathy Doyle of Alton, one grandson Robert Doyle of Alton and a sister Ladema and Russ Sappington of Griggsville, IL.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Robert Davis, two brothers, Virgil and Herschel Rumple.
Services will be private with burial in Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Memorials may be directed to Foxes Grove Supportive Living Community or Salvation Army in Alton.
