Susan Coyle

Susan Marie Hawkins Coyle, age 65 of Brighton, Illinois, passed away at her home Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

Funeral 2 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Donnell–Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Interment will be in Waite Cemetery, rural Bond County. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until service time on Sunday. Memorials are to Waite Cemetery or Jubilee House, helping those with mental health, donations please mailed to Jubilee House, 417 West College Avenue, Greenville, IL 62246.

Susan, the daughter of Harold and Virginia “Sally” Grove Hawkins, was born November 30, 1959, in Alton, Illinois. She grew up in Rosewood Heights, attended the local schools and graduated from Roxana High School with the class of 1976.

Susan and Donald Gene Coyle were united in marriage December 8, 1979, at the Hartford Methodist Church. Susan and Donald have enjoyed 44 years of marriage. They are the parents of 3 children: Crystal Taylor of Hartford, Illinois, Amanda Coyle of Roxana, Illinois, and Christopher Coyle of Roxana, Illinois.

Loving people was the gift Susan shared every day. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Susan was a homemaker, raised her family and helped to care for her grandbabies. She loved country music and shopping. The recliner was one of her best-friends along with a good TV Land Marathon.

Surviving is her husband Donald, three children, brother Michael Hawkins and wife Melinda of Belleville, grandchildren: Brianna Taylor, CJ Taylor, Allie Coyle, Trevor Coyle, Brynnlee Coyle and grandson Christian Coyle who passed away, and great-grandmother to Ellie Johansen.

Preceded in death by her parents and a sister Michelle Welch.
