Samuel Herbert Knight, 73, went to be with the Lord at 4:31 am Friday, July 7, 2017 at St Anthony’s Health Center in Alton.
He was born January 4, 1944 in Grafton, IL, the son of Curtis C. and Mary H. (Pace) Knight.
Samuel married Donna K. Dailey on December 12, 1964 at the Meadowbrook 1st Southern Baptist Church. She survives.
He was an X-ray Technician for Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was a member of New Witness Fellowship in Meadowbrook and a past member of Rosewood Heights General Baptist Church. He previously owned his own auction services, Knights Auction. He was a member of the Auctioneer Association District 8 and enjoyed fishing, camping, auctions, Southern Blue Grass Gospel music and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his siblings, James Knight of Bay City, MI, Cheryl Graziana of Godfrey and Robert Dean and Vicky Knight of Elsberry, MO and his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Lou Neese, Lois Knight, Diane Robinson and Flora Jeane Knight.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Monday, July 10, 2017 at Elias, s, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Neese officiating.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to the Dorsey Fire Department or Scenic Hills Cemetery in Grafton, Illinois
