Samuel Douglas Cooney, born Saturday, September 7, 2024, son of Kevin M. and Katie Maurer Cooney of Greenville, went to heaven on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.
Samuel is the baby brother of Mark Boone Cooney and Theodore Daniel Cooney. His Grandparents are Dan & Patti (Gaffner) Maurer of Greenville and Mary D. & and the Late Mark J. Cooney of Arvada, Colorado.
Great grandparents are C.W. & Edith Gaffner of Greenville, Richard (Judy) and the late Margaret Maurer of Johnstown, CO, the late Gerald & Patricia Cooney of Denver, Colorado and the late John & Jane Douglas of Catlin, Illinois.
Samuel has six first cousins; Madilyn, James, Charlotte, Benjamin, Adeline and Hazel. His Aunts and Uncles include: David & Emily Maurer, Arvada, CO; Andrew & Sierra Maurer, Mooresville, N.C.; Catie & Jessie Riddle and Carie Cooney, of Arvada, CO. and a host of extended family; Great Aunts, Uncles and cousins located around the United States.
Services for Samuel will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2024, at the Greenville First Christian Church. Visitation will be held following the service in the family life center until 4 p.m. Samuel’s Verse: 1 Samuel 1:27-28 (NLT)
