Roy Leon Trask, 59, died at 6:39 p.m. on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He was born October 13, 1963, in Alton, the son of the late Ralph Leroy and Alice (Sickmier) Trask, Sr.
He worked in the construction industry for many years. On September 8, 2017 in Edwardsville, he married Cathy Dernovek and she survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Abigail Tandy (Jerry) of Louisville, KY, one son, Joshua Trask of Alton, two grandchildren, Aria Tandy and Savanah Caruthers, one great grandchild, Paisley Lynn, one brother, Roger Trask of Jerseyville, five sisters, Carol Mohme of Alton, Trudi Douglas (Tim) of Godfrey, Jackie Derbin of Medora, Jeannie Buck of Jerseyville, and Judy Harmon of Steelville, MO. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Trask, Jr., Bradley Trask, Danny Trask and one sister Sue Trask. A celebration of life will be held from 1:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Alton Owl’s Club, 227 Blair Ave., Alton. Memorials may be made to 5A’s Animal Shelter. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
