Ronald R. Schield, 87, of Belleville, IL, born September 20, 1938, in Belleville, IL, died Saturday, November 29, 2025, at his residence.
Mr. Schield graduated from Belleville Township High School West in 1956 and from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1961. He owned Schield’s Prescription Shoppe at 4500 hundred block of West Main in Belleville during the 1970’s and 1980’s. Later, he worked for Walgreens until he retired in 2000. Ron was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Belleville, and a member of Metro-east Pharmacist Association. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Ron enjoyed sports, music, travel, and photography. He was an avid Blues Hockey and Tennessee Volunteers football fan.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald T. Schield and Robert D. Schield; and his parents, Charles Zepart and Helen E., nee Lemkemeier, Schield.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Judith Ann Schield, nee Dill, whom he married on February 17, 1962; a son, Randy K. (Lynn) Schield; a daughter, Julie M. Schield (Dale Hoelscher); a daughter-in-law, Jami Schield; ten grandchildren, Danielle (Matt) Conway, Christopher (Jen) Schield, Emma (Nathan) McCarthy, Colleen (Aaron) Runge, Amy (Curt) Rodenmeyer, Renae Schield, Brian (Kelli) Schield, Darian Schield, Madelyn Schield, and Hannah Hoelscher; 15 great-grandchildren; and one cousin, Wes T. White.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2025, at George Renner and Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday December 6, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, Belleville, IL with Rev. Chris Spelbring officiating.
Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
