Ronald August Hellmuth, 85, passed away at 2:50 p.m. on Monday, May 25, 2026, at his residence in Godfrey.
He was born on January 3, 1941, in Alton to August and Leona Elizabeth (Julino) Hellmuth.
Ronald married Judith Ann Ontis on December 31, 1960, and together they shared many years of love and devotion. She preceded him in death on July 24, 2025.
Ron proudly owned and operated Triple A Lawn Care for more than 20 years, taking great pride in his lawn care business and the relationships he built with his customers over the years. He was also a member of Alton Eagles Lodge 254.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Rhoades (Darin), and his son, Mark Hellmuth (Sheri); four grandchildren, Molly Pace (Mitch), Adam Hellmuth (Amanda), Justin Rhoades (Paige), and Kelsey Rhoades; five great-grandchildren, Benjamin Pace, Caroline Pace, Harper Pace, Abram Pace, and Leland Rhoades; his sister, Rosie Brueggeman of Alton; along with many extended family members, dear friends, and his beloved dog, Cody.
In addition to his beloved wife, Judith, he was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lee Hellmuth.
Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey is entrusted with professional services.
A private graveside service will be held at St. Patrick's Cemetery with Rev. Joel Lohr officiating.
