Robert Hall

Robert William Hall, 100, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Born March 28, 1925 in Hannibal, MO, he was a son of William and Dorothy (Crammer) Hall.

He married Mildred J. “Mickey” Gilbert Aug. 28, 1928 in Hannibal.  She passed away Dec. 24, 2002.

Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He entered the service in Chicago May 6, 1943 and was discharged June 8, 1946 in St. Louis. Bob worked as a carpenter for Carpenter’s Local #377. He was a longtime member of the Wood River Masonic Lodge and coordinated their Christmas tree lot every year. He was an active member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Wood River, teaching Sunday school for several years.

He is survived by a son, Gerald “Jerry” (Kathleen) Hall of Maryville; two granddaughters, Emily (Chris) May of Glen Carbon and Allison (Kevin) Frank of Shiloh; and great grandchildren, Hadley May, Wesley Frank, Charlotte May and William Frank.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Hall and his siblings, Mary White, Dorothy Murphy, Margaret Ann Cutchen, Patricia Sanders, Harry Hall and Charles Hall.

Visitation will be at Paynic Home for Funerals on Saturday, March 28, (which would have been his 101st birthday) from 9 a.m. until the Wood River Masonic Lodge services begin at 10 a.m., followed by funeral services with Pastor Ken Hutchens. Burial will full military honors will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
