Robert Engler

Robert “Bob” Engler, 69, of Belleville, IL, born January 28, 1956, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Memorial Hospital East, Shiloh, IL.

Bob proudly served his country as a United States Marine, carrying the values of strength, loyalty, and devotion into every part of his life. Following his service, he built a career as a skilled painter, known for his craftsmanship, dedication, and pride in a job well done.

A lifelong supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Rams during their years in St. Louis, Bob’s passion for his teams was rivaled only by the love he had for his family. His greatest joy came from being a father and grandfather. He cherished every moment spent with his daughter, Brittany Rayburn, her husband, Shaun, and his two beloved grandsons, Lincoln and Dean.

Those who knew Bob will remember his laughter, his generous spirit, and the deep faith that guided him. His love for the Lord shone through in the way he lived-with kindness, joy, and a heart always ready to serve others. He leaves behind not only treasured memories but also a legacy of love, faith, and strength that will continue through his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. and Nancy E., nee Rich, Engler.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law; two grandsons, who were the light of his life; and his brother, Roger Engler.
