Richard "Rick" J. Upton of Alton passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, at the age of 77.
He was born in Springfield, Ohio, on July 16, 1948, the son of Kenneth H. and Jeannie (Adkins) Upton.
Rick was a Pressroom Foreman in sales and proprietor of Rick's Place. He was a loving father and made all holidays special, including making the best deep-fried turkeys for Thanksgiving. Rick was a very generous man and had a zest for life. He has joined his loved ones in Heaven and will be missed by all who knew him. Rick loved being outdoors. Some of his hobbies included cars, motorcycles, boating, music and to host BBQs. Most of all he cherished his time with friends and family.
Survivors include his daughter, Riki Upton of Godfrey; siblings, Terri Peri of Nevada, Pamela Upton of Arizona, and Jim Upton of Texas.
Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded by Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. No services are scheduled at this time.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
