Richard “Dick” Wayne Sutton, 88, died at 7:08 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024 at his home in Alton.
Born March 4, 1936 in East Alton, he was the son of Lester E. and Bertha Mae (Lawrence) Sutton.
Mr. Sutton served in the U.S. Army in Germany as a Motor Sergeant from 1954 to 1957 and the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1961.He joined the Boilermakers Union 483 in 1970 and retired in 1998 after 28 years of service.He enjoyed painting, playing guitar and drawing cartoons.
On July 5, 1985 he married the former Loretta Duff in Alton.She preceded him in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Renee Sutton of Alton and Angie Sutton of Branson, MO, three granddaughters, Brenda, Summer and Josie, a great grandson, Cole, and two great granddaughters.
Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennie Jo Morgan, a granddaughter, Rabecca Sutton, five brothers, Harvey, Donald, Robert, Raymond and James Sutton, and a sister, Mae Brown.
