Richard Ray Katich, 76, of Gillespie, IL, died at Heritage Health of Gillespie, IL on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at 8:38 am. He was born December 1, 1945, in Litchfield, IL to John Katich & Bessie Nitz Katich.
He married Renee R. DeMartini Katich on July 20, 1989, in Memphis, TN.
He was a grain and livestock farmer. He was a member of the US Army National Guard. He was a member of the SS Simon & Jude Church. He was a sports fan of anything his grandchildren were playing. He attended all family activities. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling to visit family.
He is survived by his spouse, Renee Katich of Gillespie, IL, children, Elise (David) Schwartz of Carlinville, IL, Daniel (Kate) Katich of Batavia, IL, Kevin (Therese) Polo of Carlinville, IL, Keith (Donata Garrasi) Polo of Florence, Italy, Kristine (Anthony) Jarden of Bunker Hill, IL, grandchildren, Derek, Colleen, Benjamin, Laura, Katie, Allegra, Jacob, Peter, Caroline, Alessandro, Adam, Maria, Meredith, brother, Roger (Bev) Katich of Gillespie, IL, beloved dog, Peaches, and many nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at SS Simon & Jude Church in Gillespie from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Funeral services are Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 11:00 am at SS Simon and Jude Church in Gillespie.
