Richard Lowell Napp, 87, passed away at 11:52 am on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Alton Memorial Hospital.  

He was born on January 31, 1936 in Alton, IL to Wilbur and Mildred (Tarrant) Napp.

Richard married Judy Last on March 15, 1958 in England.  They were married for 65 years; she was the love of his life.  She survives.

Richard proudly served in the United States Air Force and was selected as a recipient of Honor Flight to Washington DC where he was recognized for his service, sacrifice, and selflessness.  He retired from Olin Corporation as a Foreman.

Richard was a member of St Paul's Episcopal Church where he was actively involved and held many positions.  He was an avid gardener.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by two daughters, of whom he was very proud: Carol (Olen) Witcher of Godfrey, IL, and Wendy (Dominic Dunnavant) Napp of Collinsville, IL; two granddaughters, Lindsay (Brett Wilburn) Witcher of East Alton, IL, and Chelsea (Nathan) Aud of East Alton; a grandson, Olen Andrew (Molly) Witcher of Godfrey, IL; six great-grandchildren fondly referred to him as "Grandpa GG": Noah, Charlie, Harper, Nicholas, Austin, and Taylor; along with many extended family members and good friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Norma Lee Napp.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey is entrusted with professional services.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
