Rebecca Jean Emery, 78, passed away at 11:32 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Evercare of Edwardsville.
She was born on October 16, 1946, in Alton, IL, to Alfred and Lena (Meredith) Houston.
Rebecca worked as a public accountant for Scheffel and Company. A devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan, she also found great joy in her cats, playing bingo, knitting, crocheting, and was a fanatic of Coca-Cola.
She is survived by two sons, Steven A. Emery (Stacey Carlise) of Bethalto, IL, and Jimmy Emery (Anna) of Arnold, MO; three grandchildren, Brianna Bilic, Lenox Emery, and Heloise Emery; and two brothers, Ronnie Houston (Shirley) and Kenny Houston.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Baker, and a brother, Donald Houston.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home and Crematory in Godfrey.
