Queenie F. Overbey, 92, of Wood River passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born December 20, 1932 in Bury St. Edmunds, England to Frederick G. and Florence (Bull) Mason. She married Bennie E. Overbey July 16, 1953 in Wayland Norfolk, England; he preceded her death April 14, 2008.
Queenie was a strong woman who raised four independent daughters. She loved her family was a caring person who remembered everyone’s birthday. In her free time she enjoyed the outdoors especially camping.
She is survived by four daughters and two sons in law, Linda “Tweed” Walters, Brenda and Dwain Ray, Jody and Howard Faulk and Sandy Giddeon.; six grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren.
Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brandi Giddeon.
Private services for the family will be held by Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights. Memorials can be made to BJC Hospice. Burial will take place at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
