Phillip Woolsey
Bunker Hill | Save
Phillip Greg Woolsey, 65, passed away at 10:49 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2026 at his home in Bunker Hill.
He was born on May 18, 1960 in Jerseyville, Illinois, the son of the late Phillip and June (Skeens) Woolsey, Sr.
Phillip worked as a carpenter with Bob Hartma, a trade that suited him well, as he was someone who could build just about anything with his hands. He took pride in his work and in the things he was able to create and fix over the years. He enjoyed working on vehicles, spending time on tractors and riding his lawnmowers, and always appreciated sitting down to a good meal. More than anything, however, his family was the center of his life, and the time he spent with them meant the most to him.
He married Dorothy Depper on April 20, 1991 in Alton, and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons, William Depper of Bunker Hill, Phillip and Becky Woolsey, Jr. of Bunker Hill and Gabriel Woolsey of Bunker Hill; a sister and brother in law, Melody and John Shelton of Fieldon; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jaxon Tyler Reynolds Depper.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m., Monday, April 13, 2026 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
Memorials may be given to the family, in care of the funeral home.
