Pauline Newsome, nee Bate, 86, May 9, 1939 - July 5, 2025. Pauline was born in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.
She moved to the United States in 1963 with her husband Ken, due to their involvement with training and showing dogs. Her primary occupation was as a hairdresser. She often commented about Kennedy being assassinated just after their arrival in the states.
Pauline and Ken eventually settled in Nashville, IL. Following Ken’s passing in 2016, Pauline moved to the Cambridge House in Swansea, IL, then Four Fountains in Belleville, and eventually Freeburg Care Center where she passed away peacefully.
Blessed by the friendship of fellow residents and staffers at the various places she lived, there was always humor in her heart even when her circumstances were challenging. She delighted her friends with her British accent and charm.
Pauline is survived by her nieces in England and will be missed by those who’ve been blessed to know her. Among those are her family doctor and the doctor’s family, of which Pauline became a cherished part in recent years.
Pauline will always be an inspiration through the memories of her beautiful smile and laughter.
