Patricia Thurston
Mascoutah | Save
Patricia A. Thurston, nee Green, affectionately known as Patty, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Mascoutah Rehab and Nursing in Mascoutah, IL, at the age of 66. Born on March 21, 1960, in Belleville, IL, Patty lived a life defined by hard work, fierce love, and a nurturing spirit.
Above all else, Patty was a devoted mother and nana. She poured her heart into her family, loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren deeply and cherishing every moment spent with them. Known for her tireless work ethic, she worked hard her entire life until she physically could not anymore, finding her greatest joy in her final role working at a daycare she loved dearly.
Patty was the kind of person who was always there with a helping hand at a time of need. Her true love language was feeding people, and she will be forever remembered for her fried chicken. To know Patty was to love her. She embraced life’s simple pleasures with open arms, whether it was watching her favorite TV dramas, drinking coffee at any time of day, or basking in the sunshine to get a good tan.
She was preceded in death by her son, Chad; grandson, Landon; her mother, Barbara, nee Gerhardt, Hamann; and a sister, Cathy.
Surviving are a son, Michael Thurston; a daughter, Candi Thurston; five grandchildren, Taylor (Mitchell) Kollmann, Haley (Donovan) Longley, Savannah, Elliott, and Christopher Thurston; great-grandchildren, Lacey, Archer, and Charlotte; four sisters, Barb, Anette, Brenda, and Pamela; nieces and nephews, Josh (Deanna) Erb, Mya, and many more family and friends.
Memorials may be made to Taylor Kollmann, for final expenses. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.
A celebration of life will be held from 4 to 7 pm. Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Grange Log Cabin in O’Fallon Community Park, 401 East 5th St, O’Fallon, IL 62269.
According to Patricia’s wishes, cremation services were held.
