Pamala Pyle

Pamala E. Pyle, 78, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at her home in Alton, IL.

She was born on March 11, 1946, in Queens, NY to Paul Gresham and Mary Murphy. She married Robert Pyle on July 17, 1976, in Alton and he survives.

Pamala loved to crochet, camp and fish. She especially enjoyed catfish and was known as a great cook. She had a passion for animals and would rescue any animal she found. Pamala's greatest joy was her family. She will be remembered for the nicknames and songs she would invent for her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Robert; Pamala is survived by three children and their spouses, Keith and Terri Garrett of Collinsville, Brian and Michelle Garrett of Godfrey, and Elizabeth and Kris Phelps of Godfrey; a brother and his wife, Charles and Rita Bacher; six grandchildren, Alexys Williams, Andrew Garrett, Kayla Garrett, Savannah Garrett, Braden Smith, and Luke Smith; two great-grandchildren, Tahlia Magnolia Brown, and Lyla Mae Klein; and her dog, LeRoy Brown. In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, and was loved by many bonus family members.

Pamala is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Malissa Garrett; and a sister, Elaine Naples.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 1 p.m. until the time of a Celebration of Life at 3 p.m. at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.

Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to 5 A's.
