Norma Best
Staunton | Save
Norma J. Best, 94, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 11 p.m.
She was born in Staunton, IL, on February 10, 1930, the daughter of Myrle and Norma (Bond) Sherfy. Norma married the love of her life, Elton R. Best, on June 16, 1949.
Norma worked at the dress factory in Litchfield in her younger years. She was a devoted wife and mother while her children were young. Norma babysat and cleaned homes and worked in the Staunton School cafeteria. She also was her husband's right hand helper when they "flipped homes" for "fun!"
She was a wonderful Christian woman and spoke of Jesus every chance she had. She was a "prayer warrior" as her family and friends can attest to.
Norma is survived by a daughter, Dawn (Dennis) Kieffer of Staunton; three grandchildren, Kory (Tammy) Best, Lindsey Wulfing, and Tony Kieffer; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a niece, JoAnn Gibbs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton; a sister, Delores Frizzo; a son, Terry Best; a grandson, Tyler Best; and a great-granddaughter, Maddie Best.
Norma enjoyed crocheting (she made hundreds of afghans that she gave away), adult coloring, and praying for everyone she could.
She was so ready to meet Jesus face to face and to be reunited with her husband and walk hand in hand on those streets of gold.
There will be no services at this time.
