Michelle Marie (Malley) Young, 45, died suddenly at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, July 15, 2012 at her residence.She was born in Wood River on July 26, 1966, and was the daughter of the late John & Helen (Gernigin) Malley.Michelle grew up in the Grafton area, and graduated in 1984 from Jersey Community High School.On April 8, 1991 in Las Vegas, Nevada, she married Donald E. Young, and together they have shared 21 years together.Michelle was a loving homemaker, and was a gifted vocalist, performing at numerous weddings and funerals, and won the Jersey County Fair Talent Show when she was younger, and had performed gospel at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tn.Surviving are her husband, Donald Young of Dow; a son, Paul Young of Dow, and his fiance', Casey Pfleger; two step children & their spouses, Jason & Missy Young of Carrollton and Jamie & Terry Wiegand of East Alton; four grandchildren and a grandchild expected in September; a sister, Janice Dolbee of East Alton; four brothers, Tracy Malley of Dow, Shane Malley of Wood River, Kelly Bockholdt of Carlinville, and Ron Gernigin of Pontoon Beach; her father in law, Duane Young of White Hall; and her caregiver and best friend, Leah Ammons of Dow.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Cody John Christopher Malley at the age of 16 on April 28, 2004; a sister, Karen Oatsvall; and her mother in law, Katherine Young.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Assembly of God in Jerseyville, with Rev. Carl Hayes and Daniel Drainer officiating.Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials in her honor may be given to the family in care of the funeral home
