Michael Eric Twichell, 64, died at 1:08 am on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. He was born February 24, 1960 in Alton, the son of the late Laverne E. and Elzada M. (Sutton) Twichell. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. Michael worked as a machinist with Owens Illinois Glass in Godfrey for 25 years and was a member of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers Lodge #660, district 9. He loved sports, especially St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He also enjoyed playing bingo, watching television game shows and playing Sudoku. Surviving are one brother, Mark Twichell (Sue) of Godfrey, one sister, Lisa Edwards (Steve) of Godfrey, four nieces and one nephew, Jennifer Jacoby (Dave) of Bunker Hill, Brandon Twichell (Heather) of Independence, MO, Kimber Farrelly (Noah) of Largo, Fl, Abigail Edwards (Madison) of Alton and Josephine Edwards of Godfrey, one great nephew, Tanner Jacoby and one great niece, Reyna Edwards. A Memorial visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Father Steven Janoski will officiate.
