Michael Silvey

Michael Silvey, 76, of Hartford passed away October 2, 2024, at his home.  He was born February 13, 1948, in Murphysboro to Corwin W. and Virginia (Tyler) Silvey.

Michael was retired from Madison County transit where he worked as a driver, he also worked as a licensed insurance agent for many years. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting skeet and extending his love through his late soulmate Sue Ellen Patterson and her children, William Patterson of Carbondale and Sarah  Snyder Pyle of Murphysboro and granddaughter Taylor Hazel.

He is survived by his son, Anthony (Evsen) Silvey of Stamford, CT and daughter, Jeannette Silvey Parsons of Collinsville; grandchildren, Mey Silvey and Chloe Parsons and brothers, Mark (Tess) Silvey of Edwardsville and Patrick (Theresa) Silvey of East Alton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son in law, Justin Parsons; sister, Christina Ann Silvey; Sue Ellen Patterson and her son, Justin Jones.

Cremation services are provided by Paynic Home for Funerals in East Alton. Burial at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in Murphysboro will be at a later date. Online guestbook available at www.paynicfh.com.
