Mary Sue Zimmerman, 91, passed away 8:15 p.m.,  Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville.

Born on September 29, 1925 in Morristown, TN, she was the daughter of D. Carroll and Oma (Helton) Smith.

She and her husband worked for the Credit Bureau in Alton and later for TransUniion Credit Bureau in St. Louis before retiring.

She was an active member at Whitelaw Baptist Church in Wood River, where she taught Sunday School for many years; an avid Cardinal Baseball fan; Past President of the Bethalto Women's Club; member of Alton VFW Post 1308 Woomen's Auxillary; but more than anything, enjoyed anything that involved her children or grandchildren.

She married Gerald "Gene" Zimmerman on October 18, 1952 in Wood River.  He died October 5, 2005.

Surviving are a daughter, Karen (David) Mallory of East Alton and their children, Brian Mallory, Kim Hasenjaeger and her children, Brady, Nolan and Joel Hasenjaeger, Kelly (Bruce) Gorsich; two sons, David Zimmerman of Brighton, Kevin (Tina) Zimmerman of Osage Beach, MO and their children, Kyle (Christine) Zimmerman and Ryan Thomas; and a sister, Corrine (Jack) Mann of St. Louis.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and a sister, Dorothy Wood.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday.  Rev. Richard Newcom will officiate.

Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to Whitelaw Ave. Baptist Church.
