Mary Irene (Lowe) Rogers, 97 of Springfield, Ohio passed away on May 10, 2025.
She was born at home on November 12,1927 in Marion County, Illinois to the late Cecil and Agnes (Morgan) Lowe. Mary married Melvin Rogers on January 22, 1949 in East St. Louis, Illinois.
She is survived by her children and their spouses; Rick and Susan Rogers of Perrysburg, Ohio, Sheila and Scott Cutlip of Springfield, Ohio, David and Karla Rogers of Bethalto, Illinois, Grandchildren; Dusty (Samantha) Cutlip of Deadwood South Dakota, Danny (Sarah) Rogers of St. Peter, Missouri, Mark Rogers of Edwardsville, Illinois, 1 Sister; Clara Packard of Orlando, Florida and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by 3 Brothers; Carrol, Richard and Don, 2 Sisters; Dorris and Dorothy, sisters-in-Law and brothers-in-law.
Mary joined the United States Cadet Nurse Corps and then went into nurse’s training at Alton Memorial Hospital. She graduated 3 years later in August 1948. She later worked at Alton Memorial Hospital and Jersey Community Hospital, using her skills and compassion to stay with many friends and family overnight to bring comfort. She was of the Christian faith and spent many faithful years serving Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
Visitation will be from 10 AM to 11 AM on Friday, May 16th, 2025 at Grace Community Baptist Church in Jerseyville. Funeral Service will immediately follow the visitation at 11 AM. Pastor Johnny Woten will officiate.
Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Grace Community Baptist Church.
