Mary Jane Green, 88, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at her home in Alton, IL.
She was born on September 13, 1936, in St. Charles, MO, the daughter of the late Victor and Ida (Menten) Sachs.
Mary married David N. Green on July 29, 1961, in West Alton, MO. He preceded her in death on August 9, 2020.
Mary was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto and enjoyed needlework.
She is survived by her two sons, Davey Green of Alton, IL, and Bobby Green of Chicago, IL, and her daughter, Martha Ann Green of Alton.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her four brothers: Greg, Alfred, Johnny, and Elmer "Pete" Sachs, and her three sisters: Alice Schroeder, Evelyn Slater, and Margaret Steinman, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton. Fr. Leland Thorpe, OMV, will serve as the celebrant.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park Cemetery in Godfrey, IL.
Memorials are suggested to BJC Hospice or St. Mary's Catholic Church.
