Mary Gompers

Mary Louise Gompers, nee Rick, 84, of O’Fallon, IL, born June 8, 1941, Belleville, IL, died Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Revella at O’Fallon Senior Living.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 24 years, Stephen A. Gompers, whom she married on April 22, 1961, and who died on August 17, 1985; her parents, Armin and Elsie Mae, nee Hein, Rick; two sisters, Ruby Rick and Annice Eaves; and a brother, Wayne Rick.

Surviving are her three sons, Ronald L. Gompers, and his sons, Christopher and Andrew, and his daughter, Sarah, and her daughter, Willow; Dr. Paul A. (Dr. Jody Dushay) Gompers, and his daughter, Sivan, and her son, Aidan, and his daughters, Annika and Zoey, and James E. (Edith) Gompers and his daughter, Jessica and her children, Jimmy, Jaden, and Evelyn, and his son, Stephen; two siblings, Edward (Joy) Rick and Madonna Cooke, a sister-in-law, Lynne, nee Harp, Rick; and many dear nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2026, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
