Marilyn Moore

Marilyn J. Moore went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Alton Memorial Nursing and Rehab. She was born October 13, 1939 in Wood River to the late Archie Voumard and Fern (Dolan) Voumard Davis. Marilyn loved the St. Louis cardinals, playing bingo and watching Wheel of Fortune. She also used to love to hunt and fish. She married Walter R. Moore on November 11, 1955 and they enjoyed 68 years of marriage.  Along with her husband, Walter, she is survived by three sons and one daughter. Terry (Sherry) Moore of Bunker Hill, Kevin Moore of Alton, Jimmy Moore of Alton and Janice (Moore) Peters of Alton. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Michael Moore, Timothy Moore, Nicole Moore, Hannah, Brad and Abby Moore, Kimberly (Corey) Schetter and Bethany Hunter, as well as 11 great grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter Melody Ann, a daughter-in-law, Loretta (Zippy) Moore, two sisters, Virginia (Tootie) Woods, and Maxine Fessler and two brothers, Virgil Voumard and Danny Stayton. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.  Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery.  Per her wishes memorial donations can be made to the 5A’S Animal Shelter.  Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
