Margera Eberlin, 88, passed away at 4:20 pm Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Alton Rehab and Nursing with her husband by her side. She was born on February 5, 1924 in Calhoun County, IL, the daughter of the late Fred W. Richter and Mary Elizabeth (Hayes) Chamberlain. She married Harold Eberlin on September 25, 1953 in Alton. He survives. She was a homemaker all her life; she enjoyed bowling, gardening, traveling and knitting. Margera was a member of the Main St. Methodist Church in Alton. She is survived by her husband Harold, one son and his spouse Donald (Shelia) Eberlin of Ocean Spring, MS, four grandchildren Tara Yeilding, Steven Masters, Diamond Duke, Crystal Pourciau, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter Barbara Jean Eberlin and one brother Walter Richter. In celebration of her life, visitation will be Monday April 9, 2012 from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at the Main St. Methodist Church in Alton with Rev. Jame Hahs officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park Cemetery in Godfrey. Memorials may be directed to BJC Hospice or Main St. Methodist Church Youth Programs.
