Margaret Harrison

Margaret Sue Harrison, age 81, of Carterville, IL, formerly of Granite City, IL, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, IL. Margaret was born on January 27, 1943, in Cottage Hills, IL, a daughter of the late Troy Mohon Sr. and Mae Marie (Dunn) Gebhardt.

Margaret was a proud homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and a dear friend. Margaret enjoyed painting, crafts and working in her flower garden. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Margaret loved life, she loved to laugh, but most of all she loved her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her siblings, Jim Mohon, Jean Knezevich, Dorothy Winters, Betty Hermes, Troy Mohon Jr., and Donnie Jo Mohon.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Sherrie (Randy) Lisson, Donna Mank and Debbie (Pat) Foster, all of Granite City, IL; proud Ma Ma to Justin (Blannie) Lisson of Granite City, IL, Patrick (Michelle) Foster of Germany, Jenna Lisson of San Fransico, CA and Michael (Amber) Weeks of Okawville, IL; proud great-grandmother to Michael Jr., and Tucker; many dear nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In celebration of her life, a memorial visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Irwin Chapel, Granite City, IL. The memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, with Pastor Sharon Autenrieth officiating.

Memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Donations will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
