Marcella Pilcher, 94, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 4:46 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at the Cedarhurst Memory Care in Granite City with her family by her side.
She was born August 31, 1930, in Granite City, Illinois, a daughter of the late Ray and Gertrude (Duvall) Tyler.
She married Calvin C. Pilcher on February 23, 1949, and he passed away on July 29, 2012.
She retired from the Granite City School District #9 after many years of dedicated service as a bookkeeper. Marcella was a member of Reformed Baptist Church in Granite City and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Ahlers of Granite City; granddaughter and her husband, Stacie (Ben) Ritz of Granite City; grandson, Todd (Lori Nelson) Ahlers of Granite City; two great grandchildren, Lauren Ritz and Luke Ritz; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband of 63 years and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Hershel Tyler and a nephew, John Tyler.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon with Reverend Ben Ritz officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
