Lucille Agnes Martin, age 82, of Alhambra, Illinois, formerly Hamel, died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at the Alhambra Care Center. Lucille retired from Boatman’s Bank in St. Louis. Along with her husband they started Bur Oaks Campground in rural Alhambra. Lucille was born August 26, 1933, in Greenville, Illinois the daughter of the late Forrest & Mary (Murdock) Nelson. She married Alfred “Sonny” Martin in Greenville, Illinois on December 4, 1953. He preceded her in death on September 12, 2004. Lucille is survived by 1 son, Patric “Pat” Martin & wife Diane of Edwardsville; 1 daughter, Dee Ann Blouin & husband Marc of Peachtree City, Georgia; 3 grandchildren, Amy (Eric) Wiwczaroski, Julie (Shaun) Manley and Tammy (Matt) Bartels; 5 great grandhchildren, Jessica , Austin, and Blake Manley, Zachary & Whitney Bartels; 1 step-grandchild, Marc Blouin, Jr.; and 2 step-great grandchildren, Lexi & Christian Blouin. She was preceded in death by 1 brother, Bill Nelson and 1 sister, Rosemary Finlay. Lucille was a member of Eden Church in Edwardsville where she was active in the Women’s Guild and sang in the choir. She enjoyed bowling and golfed in women’s league at Oak Brook. Visitation will be from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2016, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. John Roberts officiating Following services she will be cremated. Family requests memorial to Eden Church or Alzheimer’s Association.
