Lisa Watters
Hamburg | Save
Lisa Watters, 62, of Hamburg, Illinois, went home to be with the Lord on April 23rd, 2026 surrounded by her family in her home. She fought with faith and courage after being diagnosed with a glioblastoma in July of 2025 and undergoing multiple treatments and brain surgeries.
Lisa was born on August 21, 1963, to Charles and Carol (Dietzman) Hirschfeld of Hamburg. She graduated from Calhoun High school in 1981, and on September 12th of that same year, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Randy Watters. Together, they spent 44 wonderful years together and welcomed a daughter, Lindsey, after nineteen years of praying, wanting, and trying to become parents.
Words cannot fully describe how amazing Lisa was. It is impossible to talk about her without mentioning the abundance of love that surrounded her; to know her was to love her. She was kind, compassionate, and full of faith. Any of her daughter’s friends could tell you that Lisa treated each one of them like her own, and she remembered every birthday.
Over the years, she and her husband worked at, and eventually took over, Watters Fish Market together and worked together every day of their married lives. Here, she always met customers with a smile that always graced her face. It was while working in the fish market together that her daughter gained some of her fondest memories of her from their time talking away from the guys and wrapping fish. Lisa was strong in her faith and was a member of Indian Creek Church of Christ in Hamburg, IL. Throughout her entire battle with cancer, her faith never once wavered.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Lindsey (Craig J.) Watters; sisters Sandi (Gary) Roundcount, Cheryl (Charlie) Tepen; mother Carol Hirschfeld; mother-in-law Betty Watters; brothers-in-law Rick (Becky) Watters, Ronnie (Marie) Watters; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Charles Hirschfeld; father-in-law Albert Watters; and brother-in-law Gary Roundcount.
