Linda Kay Clark, 64, died at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, September 21 surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter, Lisa, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on October 14, 1949 in Alton, one of two children born to the late Alvin & Geraldine (Spencer) Middlecoff.
Linda was raised in Godfrey, moving to Grafton at the age of seventeen where she made her home for the last 47 years.
She worked as a housekeeper at Principia College in Elsah for over twenty years and later as a home health aide in the area.
She married Kenneth Clarkson in the spring of 1971 and together they had a daughter, Lisa, and shared 15 years of marriage before his death on October 8, 1986.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Brian “Sonny” McDonald of Grafton; three grandchildren, Brian, Michael and Shawn McDonald all of Grafton; a brother, Alvin Middlecoff of Godfrey; a very special brother and sister-in-law, Dave & Janet Clarkson of Grafton; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family members. Per her request, her body has been cremated.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
