Larry Dale Hauck, 85, died at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born December 6, 1938, in Alton, he was the son of Lawrence Edward and Margaret Rose (Purcell) Hauck. Larry served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. Larry owned Wells Tire in downtown Alton. In 1978 he built the Wells-Hauck Tire store off the Beltline in Alton until he retired in 2007. He married the former Norma Cochran in Alton, on March 3, 1962 and she survives.
Also surviving is a son, David Hauck and his wife Kimberly of Godfrey, two grandchildren, Jay Hauck and Mallory Elzy and her husband Seth and one great grandchild, Cooper Elzy. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ron Hauck and one sister, Joanie Bacus. Private funeral was held at Gent Funeral Home with burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey.
