Larry D. Miller, 77, of Glen Carbon, passed away peacefully on Thurs., Feb. 14 with his family by his side.
He was born in Granite City, IL, June 21, 1941 to Henry and Lois Miller. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 59 years, Georgia K. Gangluff; a son, Thomas D. Miller and his wife, Shelley; daughter Debby (Miller) Arseneau and husband Jeff and daughter Nancy (Miller) Schwartz and husband Eric.
He is also survived by 3 grandsons, Kalin Loftus, Jeff Arseneau, and Nolan Schwartz as well as 4 granddaughters, Megan and Lauren Arseneau, Elise and Noel Schwartz and one great-granddaughter, Alannah Loftus.
Larry was a great husband, father, and grandfather who worked tirelessly, and even though he was dealt some tough medical blows, he never complained once. He loved his wife Georgia with all his heart and they had many travel adventures together. He was a great role model to his kids and grandkids and loved going to their many activities. He was a quiet giant of a man.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February, 16, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon, IL.
A funeral mass will be at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 155 North Main Street in Glen Carbon at 12:00 p.m. Saturday followed immediately by a luncheon.
The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful support services and care given by the staff at Anderson Hospital as well as Vitas Healthcare.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Cecilia’s Parish Elevator Fund or Vitas Hospice Healthcare.
