Kevin Sawyer

Kevin “Scott” Sawyer, 61 of Glen Carbon and formerly of Peoria Heights, Illinois passed away at 4:33 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at his home. 

He was born May 31, 1957 in Peoria, Illinois, a son of the late Jerry Walter and Joyce Kay (Defibaugh) Sawyer.  He married Pamela J. (Stelling) Sawyer on May 31, 1986 in Peoria Heights and she survives.  He was employed by the Bricklayer’s Local #18 in St. Louis where he had many years of service as a tile and marble setter.  He enjoyed his days of fishing and loved music and listening to the Grateful Dead and classic vinyl.  He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends. 

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by a son, Samuel August Sawyer of Glen Carbon; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Joan Sawyer of Peoria and Kelly and Betsy Sawyer of Edwardsville; a sister,  Jeri Kay Sawyer of Glen Carbon; sister-in-law, Karen Sawyer of Worden; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Doug and Linda Stelling of Scottsdale, Arizona, Harry and Bobbie Stelling of Fountain Hills, Arizona and Kurt and Melinda Stelling of Phoenix, Arizona; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lisa and Kevin Jokisch of St. Louis, Missouri; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and many friends. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Wayne Sawyer.

In celebration of his life, a gathering will be held at The Studio at the Wooden Nickel in Glen Carbon on Sunday, October 14^th, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
