June Stille

June Meredith Stille, age 92, of Granite City, Illinois, formerly of Belmar, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, at her home with her loving family by her side. June was born on August 16, 1933, in Belmar, New Jersey, the cherished daughter of the late Joseph Johnson Sr. and Meredith (Heulitt) Johnson.

On September 12, 1953, June Johnson married Wesley R. Stille, the love of her life, in Belmar, New Jersey. Their marriage was one built on devotion, love, and family until Wesley’s passing on February 9, 2008.

June was a faithful and devoted member of St. John United Church of Christ in Granite City, Illinois where she sang in the Chancel Choir. She enjoyed working as a bookkeeper at Buenger Accounting for many years. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was working on puzzles, word finds, watching her favorite shows such as Wheel of Fortune and Days of Our Lives, or sharing laughter with those around her. She was an avid book reader and would read just about anything she could get hold of. Above all else, June treasured the time she spent with her family. Her warm spirit, joyful laughter, and loving heart touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She loved life deeply, but nothing meant more to her than her family, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, June was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Sides and Diane Lippincott.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her devoted children, Scott Stille, Eric (Tonya) Stille, and Ruth (Daniel) Comer, all of Granite City, Illinois; dear siblings, Viola “Cookie” Johnson and Joseph “Chuck” (Valerie) Johnson Jr.; her proud grandchildren, Jadi (Steve) Spicer, Lori (Lawrence) Hayden, Kelli Comer, Ali Comer, Abbi Comer, Andrew Stille, Matthew Stille, and Erica Stille; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Ryan Spicer, Alexis (Tony) Spicer Gutierrez, Justin Spicer, Austin Ruhmann, Christian Hayden, Benjamin Reynolds, and Cameron Comer. June also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

In celebration of June’s life, visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Irwin Chapel in Granite City, Illinois. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Karla Frost officiating. June will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Wesley, at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to St. John United Church of Christ.

Donations will be accepted at the funeral chapel. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.irwinchapel.com.
