Josephine Fay Biros, 97, of Cottage Hills, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, in Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born in Dale, Illinois, on August 17, 1928, the daughter of Carrie and Grace (Webb) Tedford. Josephine married Rudolph "Rudy" G. Biros on August 17, 1946 in Streater, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 2015.
Josephine was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed shopping, she was a great cook, and she loved to bake.
She is survived by her children, Michelle (Tim) Mank of Waxhaw, NC, and Cynthia Cecchini of Bethalto; grandchildren, Lindsay (David) Patterson of Waxhaw, NC, Tim (Katie) Mank of Charlotte, NC, Angie (Josh) Smith of Alton, and Rudy (Ivy) Cecchini of Brighton; and a sister, Elouise (Kenneth) Knight of East Alton; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, Rudy; she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Joseph Cecchini.
Mass of Christian Burial held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, 10:00 am, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto. Celebrant will be Father Tom Liebler.
