John T Seymour, 65, of Medora, passed away at 2:12 am on Thurs Dec 27, 2018 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton.
He was born on Jan 22, 1953 in San Pedro, CA to Fred & Susie (Deem) Seymour.
He married his high school sweetheart, Jane (Harding) Seymour on Oct 7, 1972 in Medora.
John is survived by his wife, 2 sons & daughters in law; Shawn & Tammy Seymour of Brighton and Pat & Candice Grimm Seymour of St Clair, MI, 4 grandchildren; Zack, Brock, Austin & Mason Seymour, sisters & brothers in laws; Betsy & Bob Heiens of Dow, Lisa & Randy Ebbeler of Godfrey, brother and sister in law; Dyke & Debbie Seymour of Godfrey and father and wife; Fred & Rebecca Seymour of Godfrey; several nieces and nephews dear to his heart; and his faithful dog Skippy.
He has worked in construction since the age of 16 alongside his father, brother, two sons, and several nephews in their family owned business Fred Seymour & Sons. He later branched out as owner and operator of John Seymour & Sons. He is currently a self-employed building contractor working alongside his brother in law Randy Ebbeler.
He is an avid baseball and football sports fan. John is known as a hardworking, dedicated business man, who took pride in every job he designed and completed. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Visitation will be 4-8 pm at Targhetta F H in Brighton on Sun Dec 30, 2018.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Mon., Dec 31, 2018 at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church in Medora with Rev Chuck Keene officiating.
Burial will be in Medora Cemetery.
Memorial may be made to American Cancer Society or the Southwestern Foundation for Educational Excellence.
