John Patrick Jennings, 60, born on June 22, 1965, of Belleville, IL, died Friday, July 4, 2025, at Evercare, Swansea, IL.
John was a graduate from Althoff Catholic High School. A proud and hardworking man, John spent much of his life as a skilled bricklayer, known for the strong foundations he built — both in masonry and in the lives of those around him.
A man of deep Catholic faith, John was known for his big heart, generous spirit, and unmistakable personality. He had a lifelong love of Batman, rock music, wrestling, and a famously large Budweiser stein collection. He found joy in barbecuing in his garage, celebrating Halloween with flair, and giving gifts to just about everyone he knew. His favorite role in life was simply being there, helping fix things or showing up with a joke and a smile.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Dolores T. Lercher, Jennings; his two brothers, Christopher M. Jennings and Daniel G. Jennings; and a sister, Angela M. Fellner.
He was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend.
John is survived by his three daughters, Kelli (Jennings) Williams-Azerki (Nour Azerki), Nicole (Jennings) Hasanovic (Amar Hasanovic), and Meghan Jennings; twelve grandchildren, Javon, Jordan, Lana, Andrew, David, Emily, Alaina, Jackson, Ava, Zayn, Abbaz, Benjamin, and a great-granddaughter, Elliana; two sisters, Judith A. Jennings (Tim Volluz) and Mary M. Volluz (Lloyd Volluz); a brother-in-law, David Fellner; and many dear nieces and nephews.
